Update

Michael heard this kitten crying pitifully across the street, and checked with the neighbors to see if she belonged to anyone. Unfortunately, not! Luckily, she quickly went into the trap, and Ellen Lynch took her to the vet where she was wormed and treated for flea infestation. 

This cutie pie is now in foster care at Cat Town, in Oakland. Ellen and Michael have asked the neighbors to be on the lookout for other stray kittens, as there are often litters of at least five.
